Denver Film Festival and Wrap Party Photos Nov. 17, 2002, Denver hosted its 24th annual Film Festival. Attending were local Mississippi blues guitarists, Lucille, Vasti Jackson, David Hughes and Chris Thomas King, from Louisiana. They were invited to the premiere of Robert Mugge's docu/movie "THE LAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI JUKES." The film was shot at the Subway in Jackson, Ms. Each of the gun slingers had a performance role. The movie was produced by the STARZ cable network and will air Feb. 2003 on the STARZ channel. These pictures are from the premiere and the closing party in Denver, Co. Cheri Rubin and her band laid the foundation for all of the guitar players to do their thang. At one time there were 4 guitar players on stage and no one stepped on a single toe. Rarely does that happen but there was nothing but camaraderie and respect on that stage. The festival chairman stated, "this was the best closing party in the 24 yrs of the Denver film festival." He was absolutely right! Below are thumbnails of the order of events leading up to the closing party. Hold the cursor over the pic to disclose the description, then click to enlarge.
